Arthur De Poortere is an awarded journalist and filmmaker specialized in covering areas of conflict worldwide.

Arthur moved to Ukraine in March 2022 and spent more than 13 months covering the war for French and international media including Agence France-Presse (AFP), TV5 Monde, Quotidien (TMC — TF1), Bliek and LN24.

Since the Hamas attack of the 7th of October, Arthur has been based in Jerusalem and reporting from both Israel and the West Bank for PBS NewsHour, France Television, Newsnet, Quotidien and RTBF.

His latest documentary “Ukraine, Ice & Fire’’ co-directed with Charles Comiti documented the living conditions of Ukrainian soldiers posted in the last trench facing the Russian army, south Zaporijia. It was awarded best foreign documentary film by the Golden Gate International Film Festival in San Francisco. The movie was broadcast both in France and Belgium by M6, LCI and RTBF.

Arthur holds a BA in International Relations from Maastricht University. He is fluent in French, English and Dutch and is fully HEFAT trained.
